Wang Yi Meets with Special Envoy of UAE President to China Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak

On October 13, 2026, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Special Envoy of UAE President to China Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak in Beijing.

Wang Yi asked Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak to convey President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stating that China and the UAE are good friends who trust each other. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, China-UAE political mutual trust is strong and cooperation has yielded substantive results. Bilateral relations have gone beyond the bilateral scope and become a model of Global South countries working together for development and revitalization. In April this year, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, paid a successful visit to China. President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang met with His Highness Crown Prince respectively, sustaining the close high-level exchanges between the two countries and demonstrating the strategic nature of China-UAE relations. No matter how the international and regional situation changes, China is ready to continue working with the UAE, under the guidance of the two heads of state, to bring bilateral relations to new heights.

Wang Yi stated that the Middle East is undergoing profound changes, with conflicts dragging on at multiple levels, and their spillover effects continuously impacting regional security and development. The desire for peace rather than war, dialogue rather than confrontation, and fairness rather than hegemony is increasingly becoming the common pursuit and shared aspiration of the people of all countries in the region. The path to peace is never smooth, and promoting peace and halting hostilities requires pooling efforts. We believe that as long as all parties adhere to the choice of peace and maintain their resolve for peace, a bright future for the Middle East will surely be achieved. China has always been a builder of peace, a promoter of stability and a contributor to development in the Middle East. We will uphold the series of initiatives and propositions for peace and stability put forward by President Xi Jinping, and continue to make China’s contributions and play China’s constructive role in achieving a comprehensive ceasefire in the Middle East, advancing a political settlement, restarting negotiations at an early date and bringing about lasting peace.

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak asked Wang Yi to convey President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, congratulated on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, thanked China for the warm hospitality extended to Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his visit to China, and expressed the expectation of conducting head-of-state diplomacy within the year. Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak briefed on the current situation in the Gulf and the Middle East and the efforts made by the UAE, stating that the UAE is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with China to jointly promote regional peace and stability. China has always been a trustworthy and reliable partner for the UAE, and the UAE hopes to bring the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level.

The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of mutual concern.
