US Warns Citizens in Saudi Arabia of Potential Drone, Missile Attacks
In a security alert, the US diplomatic mission and its consulates in Saudi Arabia advised citizens to follow instructions issued through national alerts from the Saudi Civil Defense.
The US mission said there had been no change in its security or operational posture.
“Regular and emergency consular services are available for U.S. citizens,” it added.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier said Washington would maintain its bilateral security commitments to Saudi Arabia amid renewed military confrontations involving Houthi forces in Yemen.
Yemen has remained embroiled in conflict since the Houthis captured the capital Sanaa and several provinces in 2014, leading a Saudi-led coalition to intervene the following year in support of the internationally recognized government.
A truce established in 2022 collapsed in July, with fighting escalating since then.
