Qatar Armed Forces Intercept Missile Attack

(MENAFN) Qatar’s armed forces intercepted a missile targeting the country Wednesday morning, the Defense Ministry reported on X, without providing further details. Explosions were heard over the capital Doha as air defenses engaged the incoming threat, according to Al Jazeera.

The interception followed a public warning issued by the Interior Ministry about a heightened security threat, the first alert of the day.

The incident comes amid escalating regional tensions since Feb. 28, when Israel and the US launched joint strikes on Iran, reportedly killing over 1,200 people. Iran has since retaliated with drone and missile attacks against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military forces.
